Biography

Bernard Aaron Dolecki is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, and adaptive technophile from Jamestown, New York, who holds an MFA in Emerging Practices from the University at Buffalo (UB). With a practice that spans multiple disciplines, he focuses on delivering multi-user experiences through technology.

As a first-generation student, Bernard completed his BFA in Expanded Media at Alfred University in 2014. "It was here at Alfred," Bernard says. "Where I learned the value of community and found interactive installation to be my medium of choice."

Since finishing his masters in 2018, Bernard taught at UB in the Department of Media Studies for five years, leading with a teaching philosophy centered on community-driven experimentation. He says, "It was during the extreme isolation of the pandemic where I went through a deep introspection to find that my creative ideation flourishes through social collaboration."
